FIVE INTERESTING THINGS YOU CAN DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME

Idleness is not a pretty look on anyone. We all know this much, because at one point or the other in our lives, we have had more free time on our hands than we knew what to do with. Since we live in an increasingly digital era, it is little wonder that the greater percentage of the world's population prefers to spend their free time, switching from one to the other of the same five apps they use every single day, even when there's nothing really new on any of them. While this, in itself, is not bad, many people either don't know where to draw the line that borders on excessive screen time, or don't know what to do when they're not on their phones, so, we have compiled a list of five amusing, pleasurable and mentally stimulating things you can do at your leisure.
TRY OUT A NEW RECIPE
If you are big on culinary art, this should be an enjoyable way for you to spend your free time, especially considering that it comes with an immediate reward - a yummy delicacy you can treat yourself to. Even if you aren't much for cooking, this should still be a fun thing to do because you never know how things will pan out! You just might end up creating magic (it'll likely be excessively salty, but that's OK because when you think of it, what's more magical than salt, afterall?), or you just might burn down your kitchen. Either way, you'd have achieved the aim of having some fun and a good laugh.
READ A BOOK
This works for me every single time. With a good book, you'll travel to worlds that may or may not exist, and do this much whilst still enjoying the comfort of your couch, which is a good thing, considering how insanely high the price of gas now is. While reading, you get to experience lives you haven't lived, and feel emotions you didn't know you could, not to mention seeing through new perspectives that broaden your mind's horizon. I'd recommend Juliet, Naked by Nick Hornby and Satan's Real Name is Angela by Priince Briight to fiction fans everywhere.
INDULGE IN ACTS OF SELF-CARE
Let's be honest, adulthood is VERY demanding. We sometimes get pulled in different directions by so many responsibilities which, as is often the case, are priorities that we just must give attention to. So, if you have a chunk of time to yourself after a busy day, it won't be too bad an idea to spend it on self-maintenance, would it? Whether you are getting your manis and pedis done, or treating yourself to a full body massage, or even meditating, indulging in self-care is a great way to pass your free time.
ADOPT A NEW HOBBY
I can't stress this enough - hobbies can be lifesavers too! You can choose to spend your free time sitting in front of your fridge and consuming everything edible in it, then wondering how all the belly fat snuck up on you afterwards, or you can spend that time trying out DIY arts and crafts instead. The latter way, you get to save your food for when you really need it, which is a plus in a world where inflation is on a steady rise. There are of course, other options you can consider if you are neither artsy nor crafty. Phonography is usually the glaring alternative, but there are other equally rewarding choices like gardening, keeping a dairy, learning to play an instrument and even collecting items.
LEARN A NEW SKILL
Workaholics who don't (quite know how to) balance their work-leisure time will find this an especially worthy pick. If, even in your spare time, you are constantly looking for ways to improve yourself that are targeted at wealth generation, then learning a new skill is just right for you. Whether you are learning how to speak a new language, or how to sew, or the basics of web/graphics designing, you can always hone in on your skill and leverage it for money in the long run.
Which of these is your favorite? Let us know in the comments. Don't forget to subscribe! ♡
Is 'Satan's Real Name is Angela' published already? The full length work, I mean, not the excerpt you posted on Okadabooks. Asking 'coz you recommended it here.
Definitely trying these out!
Exercising is also a great idea, you know, trying out new workout plans. Although Learning New Skills and Self-Care are my favorite🤗
