COUNTRIES WITH CURRENCIES LESSER THAN THE NAIRA

Hello Priinces(ses),

If you live in Nigeria, then the severity of an economic depression is something you can relate to all too well, which is very unfortunate, I might add. The prices of basic commodities essential for human and even livestock survival are insanely high AND still on a steady increase, yet, the salaries of the working class either remain the same, or are being slashed. You know it's really bad because you can no longer gift a kid a 5 naira bill without earning yourself the label of a stingy person - even the children know that that much can buy them nothing in the present economy! Yes, the value of the Nigerian Naira has dwindled significantly in the global market, especially in recent years, but there are several other currencies out there that the Naira still tops. So, if you're tired of the trenches, and want to be one of the big boys, not just chill with them, then listed below are five countries you can japa to with currencies lesser than the naira.

  • SIERRA LEONE

Somewhere on the Western coast of Africa lies this beautiful country which has a major significance in the history of the transatlantic slave trade. Its capital, Freetown, was founded in 1787 as a home for repatriated former slaves from London and the US of A. The city sits on a coastal peninsula, and overlooks the Sierra Leone Harbor, the world's third largest natural harbor. It is bordered by Guinea to the North and Northeast, Liberia to the South and Southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the West. You'd enjoy its tropical climate, because you'd be able to afford enough sun hats for yourself, seeing as 1 Nigerian Naira (NGN) is equivalent to 30.36 Sierra Leonean Leone (SLL).

  • THE REPUBLIC OF GUINEA

The Republic of Guinea has the largest deposits of bauxite and iron ore in the world and is a gold and diamond producer. Thanks to these mineral resources, Guinea has the potential of being one of Africa's richest countries. It is a coastal country in West Africa, and borders the Atlantic Ocean to the West, Guinea-Bissau to the Northwest, Senegal to the North, Mali to the Northeast, Cote d'Ivoire to the Southeast, and Sierra Leone and Liberia to the South. Formerly known as French Guinea, the modern country is sometimes referred to as Guinea-Conakry after its capital, Conakry, to distinguish it from other territories in the eponymous region such as Guinea-Bissau and Equatorial Guinea. 1 Nigerian Naira (NGN) is equivalent to 21.23 Guinean Francs (GNF).

  • UGANDA

Nestled in the African Great Lakes region, this country is not without its own outstanding features. For starters, it has the largest freshwater lake as well as one of the strongest waterfalls on the African continent, is the source of the world's longest river - the Nile, has the largest number of primates, and also has the highest number of mountain gorillas worldwide. Uganda is bordered to the East by Kenya, to the North by South Sudan, to the West by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the Southwest by Rwanda, and to the South by Tanzania. 1 Nigerian Naira (NGN) is equivalent to 8.58 Ugandan Shillings.

  • TANZANIA

Tanzania is home to Africa's highest mountain, the Mount Kilimanjaro. This country is mostly visited for its safaris and wildlife-related adventures. It borders Uganda to the North, Kenya to the Northeast, Comoro Islands and the Indian Ocean to the East, Mozambique and Malawi to the South, Zambia to the Southwest, and Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the West. 1 Nigerian Naira (NGN) is equivalent to 5.60 Tanzanian Shillings (TZS).

  • THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

Known for being rich in natural resources, Congo boasts not only of vast deposits of industrial diamonds, cobalt, and copper, but also of one of the largest forest reserves in Africa. That's not all! It also has about half of the hydroelectric potential of the African continent. It is, by area, the second largest country in Africa (after Algeria), and the 11th-largest in the world. Congo is bounded to the North by the Central African Republic and South Sudan, to the East by Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, and Tanzania, to the Southeast by Zambia, and to the Southwest by Angola. 1 Nigerian Naira (NGN) is equivalent to 4.78 Congolese Francs (CDF).
